Let me preface this post by saying I don’t like color. It generally turns me off and to me looks, in a word, cheap. Maybe if I had the budget to spend on high end pieces constructed in fine fabrics then I could buy dyes that won’t fade in the wash or a non-garish red. But in the absence of that luxury I find that a palette of all black, white, navy and gray helps to elevate my Zara and H&M wardrobe. Plus I just like those colors (or lack thereof). The latest no-color color that has caught my fancy is blush. The color pink kind of gives me the heebie jeebies, but this blush is really just a notch or two past nude so I feel ok about it. There’s a high probability that this new blush craving is a result of the spring-Easter-pastel thing that’s happening on Instagram now. I even have a fluffy almost-blush faux fur coat that I’ve been sporting lately (while SXSW-ing and sipping mimosas evidently).

To all my fellow color-phobes – do you think you’ll try a nude-pink-blush this season?
