Big news: I’m moving!
Hence the home stalking and the Apartment Therapy hunting. It’s going to be a big move, or small depending how you look at it. Let me explain: I’m going from 1,500 sq feet to a studio of just 420 sq ft. At first the prospect terrified (and slightly depressed) me, but then I started to get excited by the challenge. Now I’m fired up! So I think this year on the blog I am going to document first of all my move (before and after pictures! My favorite!) and my design challenges of living in a studio. You may or may not have noticed but in 2012 I published more of my own photos and content than ever before, and I think that is the direction that I’d like to take with the blog. I hope to give and get ideas from you guys about small apartment living, I can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

I moved my first boxes in last night (kitchen and bathroom done) but tonight I begin the clothes and shoes. Along with downsizing my living space, my closet is shrinking to about a quarter of the size (I know you guys can appreciate the difficulty). Challenge Number 1.
Wish me luck!
xoxo Cristina

  1. So exciting! Are you still in Austin? What neighborhood do you live in?

In July I’ll be going through pretty much the same situation, but hoping to stay in 78704, so I’ll be interested to see the before & afters!

  2. All the best for this NEW beginning! We are thinking of moving to, to another town, island again in Greece. Big chances for summer! take care my dear!

  3. Good luck! I’ve cut my wardrobe in half since moving into my own apartment and in a way it actually is freeing. No more useless clothes taking up precious closet space, just pieces I love and feel good wearing.

    1. YES it’s so true! It makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier, faster, and more enjoyable because I love everything I’m choosing from! Have you thought of trying the French 5 piece wardrobe? I want to but I’m intimidated.

  4. WOW…all the best with the move and decorating!!!I can’t wait to see pics of your place!!! And yes, 1,500 sq feet to a studio of just 420 sq ft is defo a challenge but im sure you got your creative juices running! My friend has been thinking of buying a studio flat lately so it be great to see your inspirations too:)

Btw, i noticed you have a lot of stripes in your closet:) One of your staples pieces, i assume?hehe

    1. Good hearing from you Cinz 🙂 Guilty – totally a stripe addict. In fact I’m wearing them right now! Bit devo to be losing the square footage but also very inspired to meet the challenge. Let me know how your friend goes with her studio plans too!
